I Can’t Bring Your Children Home — But I Can Walk With You

There’s something I feel I need to say out loud, clearly and honestly.

I can’t bring your children home.

I don’t have that kind of power, and I would never claim to.
I’m not a lawyer.
I’m not a social worker.
I’m not a miracle worker.

I’m just a mother who survived a system that tried to silence me , and someone who refuses to let other families walk that path alone.

But while I can’t change court orders or overturn decisions…
there are things I can do.

I can sit with you in the dark places.
I can listen when you feel unheard.
I can help untangle the language the system throws at you.
I can share what I’ve learned, offer perspective, and be a quiet place to land when everything feels too heavy.
I can remind you that you are not the villain of your own story, even when the professionals speak as if you are.

And sometimes, something small, a message, a quote, a moment of understanding ~ gives a parent just enough strength to keep going.

If that ever happens…
If my words help you steady yourself…
If you find the courage to write one more email, attend one more meeting, or try again tomorrow…
If, one day, your children come home…

That will never be because of me.

It will be because you did the invisible, extraordinary work that nobody sees.
Because you held on.
Because you kept showing up, even when your heart was breaking.
Because you chose growth, reflection, truth, and love in a system that so often offers fear instead.

I am proud of you — deeply, quietly, honestly proud.

I’m not here to save you.
I’m here to walk beside you.

And whatever the outcome, your courage will always matter.
You are the reason your story keeps moving.
