When I first created The Girl Speaks, it was my voice — my story — my fight.
But behind me, there has always been another heart breaking too.
My husband.
He did not live the life I lived. He didn’t grow up with a system of broken promises.
He believed, at first, that the authorities were there to help. To protect.
He wanted to believe that good intentions would lead to good outcomes.
But over time, he, too, was pulled into the web of manipulation, silence, and confusion.
He trusted. They used that trust.
Now he stands beside me, not just as my husband, but as another soul wounded by a system that knows no boundaries.
Right now, his story is still his own — quiet, still finding its voice.
But his journey is part of mine, and part of the reason I keep speaking.
Because when they hurt one of us, they hurt all of us.
One day, when he’s ready, you might hear from him too.
Until then, know that The Girl Speaks is never truly alone.
There are many of us, standing quietly in the dark, waiting for the light.
“His trust, their weapon.”
